DOWNES - STEPHEN A.of New York City. Husband of the late Rose (nee McGuire). Son of the late Madge (Lynch) and Stephen. Survived by children Deirdre Fogler, Bernadette Coyle, Delia and Stephen, eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Predeceased by siblings Mary, Robert, Nicholas, Bernadette O'Shea, Helen, Anne Maguire and Joseph (USMC). Survived by siblings John, Thomas, William, Margaret Andino and many nieces and nephews. Stephen was in the first graduating class of Power Memorial Academy, Veteran of WWII, retired Batallion Chief (Harlem)of FDNY., trial attorney and Past President of Div. 2 A.O.H. Reposing at GANNON FUNERAL HOME 152 East 28th St. NYC on Wednesday from 2-4pm.&7-9pm. Funeral Mass at The Epiphany Church E. 22nd St. & 2nd Ave. NYC., on Thursday at 10:00am. Interment Moravian Cemetery SI. NY. In lieu of flowers donations to Covenant House would be appreciated.
