Frederick (Fred) Henry Meyer, Jr., 86 years old, of New York, NY, passed away on January 17th, at NYU hospital of complications from a heart attack.

Fred was born an only child in Lynbrook, NY to parents Frederick H. Meyer and Irene C. Meyer on April 5th, 1937. Fred graduated high school 1955, and he went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Cornell University. Upon graduation he joined the Navy and was stationed in Brooklyn during his military stay. Fred worked for many years as a computer programmer for the City of New York until retirement in 2020. 

Fred was an ardent lover and philanthropist of the performing arts, and he contained an encyclopedic knowledge of film and theater which often made it very difficult to keep pace with him in conversation. He was soft spoken and had a warm smile with an enormously generous heart for those in need. He was a true blessing to those who had the good fortune of knowing him, and he will be missed dearly.
