Obituary of Caroline Seleta Blackmon

Caroline Seleta Blackmon Reale, of New York City, New York, passed away following a brief illness on August 24, 2020. Born in Alpharetta, Georgia, on July 1, 1985, Caroline was the cherished daughter of Ardre and Cynthia Blackmon and the loving wife to Patrick Reale. She attended schools in both Marietta and Cobb County, graduating in 2003 from John McEachern High School, then continued her education at Georgia Southern University, graduating with a degree in Speech Communications and Rhetoric. In her professional life, Caroline taught English as a Second Language in Hong Kong, served as Location Manager for various preschools in New York City, and had recently taken on the challenge of writing both children’s books and her personal memoir for publication. Caroline was a lifelong member of Marietta First Baptist Church and was baptized there alongside her brother, Wesley Bramlett. As a teenager, she dedicated her talent to the theater, performing in both dramas and musicals at the high school and the college level. Her greatest joys, though, came in the classroom, as she shared her love of performing with students from preschool age to young adults. In her personal life, traveling the world brought her great pleasure; closer to home, she learned to appreciate baseball, whether it was the New York Yankees or the Atlanta Braves, and loved the New York way of life for all the theaters, museums, and experiences it had to offer. In her heart, though, she was always a southern girl, ready to cook for anyone who came into her life. Caroline was preceded in death by grandparents Conrad and Ruth Salley, and Andrew Blackmon and Frances Patenotte. She is survived by her husband Patrick Reale, parents Ardre and Cynthia Blackmon, brother Wesley Bramlett (Casey), uncle Michael Salley, nieces Mackenzie and Marleigh, and nephew Cameron. The family invites friends to join them for a celebration of her life on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at the home of Wesley and Casey Bramlett, 792 Breckinridge Road, Marietta, Georgia. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the “Grateful First” building campaign at Marietta First Baptist Church, 148 Church St., Marietta, Georgia, 30060
