Alexander F. Durante
It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son, Alexander. He passed away on February 27, 2021, at the young age of 27, just a few weeks shy of his 28th birthday.
Alex was a loving son and best friend to his mother, Sonia and to his father, Denis Durante. He is survived by his parents and his paternal grandparents, Domenica and Frank Durante. He is mourned by his loving family, including his aunts, uncles and cousins.
Alex studied at Pratt Institute, and received a Fine Arts Degree in Communications Design. He is also a son of Xavier High School, class of 2011.
Alex was a working Creative Artist in New York City. He had worked as an Advertising Art Director, and assisted well known fine artists showing work in New York City Galleries and other Fine Art Sales Events. Alex's many interests included music and photography but it was his passion for the arts that led him to create his own contemporary art pieces. His work has been represented by galleries in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, as well as at pop up show events in Midtown, Chelsea, and the Meatpacking District. Some of his work can be viewed on durantecreative.com.
Alex brought so much love and joy to our lives and to those who knew him. He will always be remembered for his great laugh and his generous and loving spirit.
Words cannot describe the loss we feel. Alex was our world and will be sorely missed every day. Our lives will never be the same but we will honor his legacy by keeping him alive in our hearts. The world is a better place for the short time we had him on this earth. His spirit will live on through the art he left us.
Alex, we love you now and forever.
Alex’s memorial service was held privately.
