John Joseph Deery passed away on April 27th, 2018 in Manhattan at the age of 69.

Born in Brooklyn to Irish immigrants Barney and Anna Deery on November 9th, 1948, John lived his entire life in the five boroughs. He graduated from Archbishop Molloy High School before receiving a degree from Queens College and marrying Alexis Damian on October 12th, 1992. He was well known for his dry sense of humor, which could make anyone laugh in the worst of times, his love of life and spending time with those close to him, and his role as a caring husband and father. John is survived by his wife, Alexis, two sons, Sean and Connor, his brother Michael, sisters-in-law Marianne and Regina, and brother-in-law David.

Visitation will be from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Thursday, May 3rd at The Gannon Funeral Home at 152 East 28th Street. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am on Friday, May 4th at Epiphany Church on 22nd Street and 2nd Avenue. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Cemetery.
