Sheila Evers Obituary

With deep regret we announce the passing of Sheila Evers on July3,2023. Sheila was born in New York

City on April 28, 1942, the daughter of the late Michael Evers and Anna Fahey of Ireland. She was

predeceased by her sister, Michele Maguire and by her longtime companion. Bill Daly. She is survived

by her sisters Geraldine Hrazanek (Richard), Marguerite Petersen (Carl) and Una McKiernan (Robert) and

her brother-in-law, Joseph Maguire. Aunt to ten nephews and four nieces, sixteen grandnieces and

fifteen grandnephews.

After graduating from the School of the Holy Child in Rye, NY, Sheila attended Hunter College (BA,MA).

She taught elementary school for 38 years, eventually retiring as the Assistant Principal. Sheila loved

children and touched many lives over the years she devoted to the children of East Harlem.
