Joan Marie Moriarty (Schreiner) of New York, NY died peacefully surrounded by her family on September 16, 2018, at the age of 95. She was born in the Bronx on May 1, 1923 to Elizabeth and Gustav Schreiner.

Joan was a loving and devoted mother to daughters Joanne Rimmler (Tim), and Beth Ann Janis (George); a beloved grandmother to her grandchildren Erin and Tracey Rimmler, and Michael and Kelly Janis. She was preceded in death by her adored husband Walter in 1988 and her brother William. Mom will be missed beyond words.

The viewing will take place at Gannon Funeral Home (152 East 28th Street in Manhattan) on Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 4:00-8:00pm. The funeral mass will take place on Friday, September 21, 2018 at The Church of the Immaculate Conception (414 E. 14th St in Manhattan) at 10am. Final internment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
