<b>John Rogers Flathers</b>, Jr., passed on November 22, 2004 at home in New York City. He was the devoted husband of Rebecca Davis and loving father and grandfather. John was born in Boston, Mass. to Elizabeth (nee Newel) and John Rogers Flathers, Sr. John attended university and then enlisted in the navy and flew fighter jets during the Korean Conflict. Upon his release from active duty, John came to New York were he had an illustrious career challenging and molding young mind as a teacher for the New York City Board of Education. In keeping with John's wishes a private funeral was held on November 23, 2004.
