<b>Ida (Simmons) Durkee</b>, 88, of New York City, NY, widow of Alvah H. Durkee, died Saturday, (October 23, 2004) at home. She was born in Poquonock and was formerly of Newington.
She leaves two daughters and a son-in-law, Gwen Durkee of New York, NY and Carole and Joseph Lipka of Waquoit, MA; a sister, Augusta Zalenski of Lexington, SC and nieces and nephews.
Ida was the operations manager for a food manufacturing plant until her retirement.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 29, at 1 p.m., at Church of Christ Congregational, 1075 Main St., Newington.
The burial was in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
Calling hours are Thursday, 6-8 p.m., at the Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill.
