Obituary of Dorothy Kenny

Dorothy Kenny passed away on Thursday December 16. She is survived and beloved by her nieces and nephews Nicola Kenny of Ossining NY, Erica Kenny of Boston MA, Russell Kenny of Greenwich CT, Terence and Dorothy O'Brien of Madison NJ, Christopher O'Brien of Brooklyn NY, and many other friends and relatives. Ms. Kenny was a lifelong resident of the Kensington section of Brooklyn NY. She attended St. Rose of Lima School, Catherine McAuley High School, and earned a BA in Business at Pace University in Manhattan. Among other professions, she was a legal secretary in the firm Lord Day & Lord from 1959 to 1986, and a paralegal in the Coudert Brothers firm from 1986 to 1997. After retiring, she served as a poll worker for the NYS Board of Elections. She was a Eucharistic minister, supporter, and lifelong parishioner of the St. Rose of Lima Church in Brooklyn. She was also a volunteer for VITA, providing tax preparation assistance to the elderly, and a VA Hospital chaplain's assistant. A memorial mass will be held on Monday December 20 10:00 AM at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola, 48 E 84th St in Manhattan, followed by a funeral in Greenwich CT.
